They think they are too important to have to follow the rules, then get mad at the person who dares to give them a ticket.

People gripe about all sorts of tickets, even if they were breaking the law. Not a day goes by that I don't see a question on this very website where somebody admits to speeding, but they want to get out of it. Everyone feels they are so important, and that their excuse is always the valid one. If everyone were the true exception to the rule, then there would be no rules.

It also boils down to the cost, and in the case of moving violations, the continuing costs. They acknowledge their fault, but at the same time, they can't afford another bill or cost. But rather than lay blame where it belongs, they lay it at the feet of the 'public servant,' who they feel gets paid to take the abuse anyhow. It's also so easy to be cruel, heartless, and hateful when you have de-humanized that person in your own eyes.

Well, parking officers can be eccentric and it costs a lot of money to pay those tickets. Imagine if you got a $120 ticket if you parked over the line. We all make mistakes from time to time, and its not very nice to be in the business of issuing punishments out to people. I personally find most traffic enforcement to have a good personality, but on some of the bigger college campuses they can be pretty awful. I mean, there is little parking and we all have schedules to keep. Naturally, people might demand compassion from their fellow man.

Where I have to park, the parking enforcement people will literally stand near the meters waiting for them to run out so they can issues tickets as soon as they run out. I've gotten to my car just in time as they're starting to write me a ticket and begged them to let me feed my meter and they don't even look at me, they just say "too late" and keep on writing. I find it obnoxious. They're like vultures out there. We have to make a living too and sometimes I'm a FEW SECONDS late to my meter. I mean, come on, give a person a break. We're all human beings here. I just hope they run into the same lack of consideration from others that they give to us.

I agree with you whole heartily. When parked illegally, its your fault you got the ticket, not the enforcement officers, I have trouble with parking in a handicapped spot of which I have a HP license. Others along side me look to see if I have the placard, they degrade me for parking there. I get out or open the window and tell them to look at my lic plate before they say something. Would like to see more offenders tagged in the handicapped zone

The only time I get angry is when the parking enforcement picks and chooses who they are going to ticket. Instead of holding everyone responsible for parking illegally, they only pick and choose which cars to ticket. I wouldn't complain if everyone was held to the same standard.

right. People just don't like being told what to do. Those people aslo happen to be the same people who park illegally.
Had a girl in my class parked illegally, acknowledged it in class, knew she was getting a ticket, got a ticket (duh!) and then wigged out. I don't get it either. People act surprised when they get a ticket for doing what they know is wrong before they did it.
