You don't tip your cable guy,since that is the job he is getting paid to do and living in NY chances are he makes a pretty decent salary doing it..the reason for tipping a waiter/waitress and or the paperboy is because their jobs do not consist of a high salary and their employers are aware that tips make up for the money they do not see on their paycheck..Check the salaries for reastraunt workers & cable guys and you will see a huge difference in them...Trust me your cable guy gets paid what he deserves without getting a tip..

You don't tip the cable guy, and there's not supposed to accept any tips. If he's there a long time, offer a drink and maybe a few cookies or something to take with him.

I don't think it's required to tip the cable guy, that's more of a waiter, bag boy thing.

I would tip a bit, if it was not in the original contract. Often these people are paid by the job, and taking time to do extras is not covered.

Nothing, the cable company will charge you enough. His labor fee I'm sure is included.
