That is one of the mysteries of life. The big difference between just creating people in heaven and hell and saying "If you had live a life this is where you would have ended up" and going through the way things are actually done (born, live, sin, repent or not, die and receive the appropriate fate) is this: If he threw someone into hell because he knew they were going to do something, but hadn't actually done it, wouldn't that be the same as sending someone to jail who is innocent? I don't believe God is without compassion, he wants as many people to be saved as possible, that's why he sent Jesus to die for our sins. Likewise I believe he would want to be seen as being completely fair in the way he administers justice. While we may not agree with God on certain matters, at least this way the fate a person receives can be seen to be justified.

People can, and do, argue the same thing about the point of life is there is no God. I guess I would say that the point is to live. Whether life is God-given or all of this came about by chance, we have a small window of opportunity to enjoy the world.

He knows everything means that he knows that Person X is going to become a serial killer. If we don't live on earth in a universe, then we won't become serial killers and we won't deserve heaven or hell. You go to Heaven and Hell because of your choices, so you have to make them before being punished/rewarded for them.
Peace.

the question is answered by looking at the first book of the bible in chapter three. it shows that the devil questioned gods right to rule over mankind,. we are given free will, and that gives us the Right to decide what is good and bad in our own eyes, what is right or wrong. God does not command us, to worship him. he gave it all up until the time of the end. that is why Jesus could be offered all the kingdoms of the world. because they did not belong to god they belonged to mankind. and mankind's god's. the only thing set is the number of days the average man will life. god provides us with a road map to find him if we chose to, but its our choice alone not gods. if we accept his teaching and follow them, then we will be rewarded in kind, nothing more or nothing less. it is an individual choice. and a personal one at that. he knows when the time of the end is, but wants to give most of the chance to find him in our own time, it is passion of his love that has kept things the way they are so that all will have a chance to learn of his greatness and the gifts he has to offer

As His children, God wants to see us enjoy and take part in His Creation. He knows where we're all going, but I mean, He made it all for us to explore and wonder and learn about, and He would like very much for us to appreciate it.
I don't know. I kinda like my Dad's idea on it; he thinks that after we die, like if we go to Heaven, that we get to go out and explore the whole universe and really just take it all in for all eternity (it's so big it'll probably take that long anyway).
Why even create us at all if He didn't want to share it with us?

Okay, here is a serious answer for you. God knows all because he is God. But he wants us to experience for him everything that we go through here on earth and other planes, planets, worlds. And even though two people may go through the exact situation, they experience it quite differently. This is what I believe that is our 'purpose' to living this life when everything is already written.

Heavenly Father gives us the freedom to choose. We are left to choose whether we will live according to righteousness or according to evil.
He knows ahead of time who will choose goodness and who will choose evil, but he allows us to go through our life, trials and all, so that we may personally know in our own hearts, that His judgements are true.
If someone were to judge you for something before you did it, you would have doubts in your mind about how just the judgement was. If you are judged after the fact, you can't possibly deny the justice of the decision.

There doesn't have to be a point, life is not a contest to win, but
only an experience to partake in
