I'm already an atheistic agnostic, so no. I imagine it would not change very many theists view of God either, because even if and when scientists are able to formulate primitive life from amino acids, the believers will say that it's not as exquisite as the life that now abounds on the earth.

What if they create artificial intelligence? Would that be considered life?

So what if it requires silicon based chips and electricity instead of carbon based cells and sunlight converted to organic food. If an intelligent computer can comprehend it's own existence, and relate to humanity on a level equal to our own (in other words be indistinguishible from a human being) I'd say we will have created life, and that day is probably coming.

Since I do not believe in god, it wouldn't change my view other than to reinforce my belief that humans are capable of anything, given enough time and resources.

With all of our advanced technology, we have not been able to create a single living cell from scratch. One living cell is more complex than the most complicated computer chip.

On top of that, organs like kidneys, livers, hearts, etc are extremely complex machines made from these cells. We cannot even dream of making an artificial kidney or liver.

More over, these organs work together in perfect harmony like no system a human could ever make. If these things aren't evidence for a supreme creator then I don't know what is.

Scientists have already found a way to create life, and I think it is WRONG. You can pick a babys skin tone, eye color, boy or girl. And NO it does NOT change my vew on God.

No! creating life is a simple electro/chemical procedure with
very simple concepts of understanding, creating the atom from
vibrating symphonies of energy from nothing, now I would be very
impressed if man did that

No. Because he can't create something that is not physical. There is more to the body than physical things. Deep inside is the soul. Man can't create a soul. That is why God created man in his own image- with a soul that lasts forever.

No. Scientists should not play God though because when will it end? When their are only clones of the same "perfect" person running amok?

No, because it would have been God who gave them the ability to create the life.
