Hey!
are there other common causes of diarrhoea other then the 'gastro' virus..and generally is diarrhoea contagious?
my boyfriend has come down with a bit of it the last 48 hours.. and i REALLY dont want to get it (haha how selfish am i!).
he hasnt really had any other symptoms, maybe saw muscles, and a 'heavy head' he started off being really tired.
Keeping in mind he had a rather big weekend (lack of sleep and whatever else he got up to).. could he just be run down?

More than likely he has a stomach virus or food poisoning. He needs to make sure he is getting plenty of fluids like Gatorade. Also he should be on the brat diet, bananas, rice, applesauce and toast.
If you want to reduce your chances of catching it make sure you wash your hands thoroughly and a lot. Also if you are sharing a bathroom use Lysol spray every time he is in there it kills virus' and bacteria.

I heard on tv one night that some of the time what you might think is virus but it is really food poisoning. Food poisoning is more common than you think. The is from a variety of reasons. Most of the time it only lasts about 24 hours unless there is a serious problem. If it does not disappear in a short period of time, then go see a doctor. You do not need to get dehydrated. Drink sprite, as this will keep you from getting dehydrated.

It sounds like he just has the flu! Some flu's cause diarhhea. That's not contagious, but the flu is, so don't kiss him right now! If it goes on for too many more days, he should see a doctor. And tell him to drink lots of fluids because diarhhea can dry the body out, and then you can get other health problems. So make him lots of tea and tell him to drink 7-UP or gingerale to settle his tummy. Don't drink coffee when you have diarhhea because coffee promotes bowel movements! Tea does the opposite! So tea only right now!

The only way that you can "catch" diarrhea from another person is if they pass on whatever virus or bacterial infection they have to you. Diarrhea is a symptom not a diagnoses. Just make sure that he stays really hydrated... you'd be surprised how fast someone can get dehydrated from having diarrhea!

sounds like it might be a slight hang over, no food so the liquor is running right of of him. Dookyrhea is very contagious, make sure you are cleaning that toilet with bleach and washing your hands him as well
