I am Junior in a University but I am 26 years old... about 5 years older then the typical Junior. I find find myself being promptly dismissed by women at the first notation of my age. The young men treat me like I am a parental figure. I am frequently asked to provide alcohol for parties that I am not invited to. I, by all means, do not look old (the youth gene runs in my family).

Should I lie about my age and fit in better? Should I be honest and feel like a loser for the next two years?

NO.

Would you want someone to start out a relationship/friendship with YOU based on lies?!?!

If they don't like you for you, its not worth it.

Decieving someone will go nowhere.

Most women like older men anyway, just keep trying!!
Goodluck.

No. it's never okay to lie.

And since you are 26 years old, you should not be so concerned about fitting in with bunch of college kids.

You are not a loser! Get that out off your head...Just be yourself and stand your ground. Older men are always better some how and if a girl simple dismiss you because of your age. She is just plain shallow and is not even worthy the thing you will be able to offer compare to younger boys.

Good luck~

No, you shouldn't lie! You can't expect to build good, honest friendships if you are lying about something so simplex like your age. Real friends won't care how old you are. I don't think you should pretend to be something or some age you are not. And I am sure you are just not looking in the right place to meet people. Should a 13 year-old genius in college lie about their age? Exactly, and neither should you! As for "fitting in", be patient and Good luck!

Well first off sweetie you shouldn't feel like a loser, you have nothing to feel low for. You're a Junior in college no matter how old you are that is something to be proud of. Second, you can't allow these people to make you feel ashamed about your age, it's nothing to be ashamed of. You definitely don't give them the satisfaction of lying about it. Don't buy them alcohol......don't even try to worry about them...make friends outside of the school you go to.....older people.........people your age. Don't worry about them. They'll warm up to you in their own time.....just ber yourself. Remember it's college, you're not there to make friends. It's cool to make some along the way.Good luck babe! Stop being so hard on yourself. Say it: I'm a 26, a college junior and I'm proud.

Don't lie about your age. I went to WMU when I was 26. I lived in the dorm and I told people how old I was. It didn't bother people. People always commented on how young I looked. I had the time of my life. I am now 30 and I am graduating in April. It was the best experience of my life. And I did't lie my way through it. Please don't lie. Be yourself and be proud of your age and your accomplishments.
congrats to you for continuing your education.

No you should not lie about you age because if it leads to a long time relationship and you told her you lied about your age she will start to wonder what else you've lied about. So just be comfortable with you age and maybe start to look for women your own age instead of younger. I hope this has helped you a little =)

I think you should be honest - just imagine if people find out and you might be the laughing stock for the next 2 years and worst still, they might not believe you in anything you say later

Remain the honest gentleman that you seem to be and you will connect with the right relationships whenever the time is right. Be patient with yourself but please don't lower your standards by lying just to fit in. This would prove a very immature mistake on your part.

Don't lie. People don't like being lied to and usually don't trust the person who does lie. Be yourself and when people get to know you they won't care about your age.
