Once H&R Block, or any other preparer, efiles your return, it's out of their hands and into the hands of the IRS. Most preparers would efile your return the same day as it's prepared.

If there are no problems with the return, if your return is efiled by Wednesday, your direct deposit would normally be made by the IRS on Friday of the following week.

If you get your refund the next day from a preparer, you have gotten one of those high-fee, high-interest refund anticipation loans that they love to find people who will pay them for.

I would NEVER use H&R Block, PERIOD!

H&R Block hires people that know hardly anything. Much of the course indicates that areas of tax law are "beyond the scope of this class." In addition, they will hire people that flunked the final.

To be in compliance to prepare taxes, we took their course. We knew more than the teacher. We kept correcting him on mis-information and telling him things. The calaber of the students was extreemly poor.

Some people sware by them. I heard of a case where the preparer made a huge error. When the error was discovered, she told the tax paer to forget about it and that it would probably never be found out by the IRS. She was covering her butt.
