Well first go to a boxing club and join and stay there for awhile get good and if the trainers see you that you can be good and last in the ring they will put you to spar and after you spar for awhile and your pretty good they'll take you to a tournement and you will compete there and if you win (i think) you will go amateur then after numerous fights you will have the chance to turn pro
you say your 167 lb then you would be in the weight class of

Join a local boxing club, get your license, get some experience and go from there. My son started at 16, had about 10 ameteur fights, 8-2, fought in the tough man competition, placed 2nd then joined the Army, won the Korean Championship, then fought and placed 3rd in the All Army Boxing Championships. His Army record is now 11-3 with 8 KO's. You are built much like he is. The secret is, DON'T EVER GIVE UP, Good luck.

I think your best bet is to find the closest boxing gym. Usually there will be others there training and you can ask them how you got started. If you're talented, size doesn't make so much of a difference as speed, style, accuracy and the ability to take a punch. A good manager or trainer is always looking for that kind of talent. I suppose haven't a little showmanship helps too. One of my favorite fighter is "Sugar" Shane Mosley, he's not big but he is good. Also Oscar De La Hoya is tops!...but remember you should also have a backup plan like they appear to so if anything goes wrong you will have some kind of protection (financial and health). Get educated, save your winnings,invest...the best fighters seem to be the smart ones NOT the toughest ones...good luck!!

Hitting a bag helps stregnth but you need to spar to hone your skills. And go to a real gym where you can get advice from trainers and spar. Weight lifting may need to me moderated and/or removed from your routine.
If there are no gyms nearby then look them up, visit a couple and then move to near one of them. Then spar, fight some amatuer fights and then they will take you pro when your abilities are fit..
Good Luck
