Mormons are a sect and I would not go. They read the book of mormon and do not entirely believe the bible. It is not a christian church even if they want you to think so. Before you go get some books and gain insight into the Mormon sect. The book of Mormon contradicts. They believe that they will become a god after they die and live on a planet having celestial wives. They believe Jesus was a human conceived by Mary when God came to earth and had relations with her. There are many facts, too many to list right here. Please just investigate before you go.

No. I don't have to go to their church to witness to them. The one I go to is not a false restoration of the orginal like the LDS church is. That can be proved from the Book of Hebrews. Have a look at bornagainmormon.org The guy there does some videos talking about the book of Hebrews.

Yeah, I have been there and done that. It is no big deal and was actually educational. I do not have people knocking at my door or shoving their beliefs down my throat. I told them straight out that I am an Atheist and that I was only there to get a better understanding of their religion.

Diamond in the Rough,

There were plenty of black people there. There was no racism at all. Their religion just like Christianity had problems in the past and racist members but just like a lot of Christian denominations of today LDS is not a racist religion.

I went to a Mormon funeral. The church was kind of like a dentists office....with a few jesus pictures. The departed was dressed in "temple clothes." Ham and funeral salad followed.

No. Because mormons hold ridiculous and - as I learned reading the Book of Mormon - racist religious views. That and church is boring.

OOOH! Mormons. They are not so crazy. Go. It's good to learn about other people, faiths, beliefs, cultures. If you don't believe what they believe, that's fine. But find out before you judge them...just like with anyone else and just like you'd want to be treated.

No, I've been to enough churches. I like going to the old Catholic churches because of all the great art.

no absolutely not! They can not just have some one visit and enjoy their service! they have to try to convert and baptize you before the end of the day. CUT OUT THE HARD SALE.

I would definately go. I don't think that there is any harm in learning about others' religious beliefs. I think that the only way to truly believe in something, is to know other options and to figure out what you feel the most strongly about. If your religion is the only one you truly know, then how can you know that it is the Truth? Go, enjoy and learn.

Sure, why not? It's not like you're signing your life away by going to church with someone who is Mormon. Think of it as an opportunity to see how other people worship and/or to appreciate your own religion.
