Amalgum...... It is not silver and its has a very trace amount of Mercury.....that are stable when mixed with the other medals. Amalgum fillings are safe and in most cases beter than the white fillings on back teeth because there is a much smaller chance of them leaking and causing redecay

amalgam fillings... it has silver and mercury. others have alloy and other metal elements... they will put it in an amalgamator (machine to mixed the amalgam) and after that the dentist/assistant will put it in a dish and amalgam carrier and put it in the prepared tooth.

>if the dentist polish it very well it's shiny and you're amalgam filling will really shine because of the silver.
