I've heard that men have the same hair as their grandfather on their mother's side of the family. What's his hair situation? I think Rogain or hair transplant may be the only options right now.

David-
Dude so sorry. Woman have it too- I know first hand.
I was 15 when I went gray. so it suxs!
Its genetics and health that are the factors. Check your diet and talk to your MD before any thing else. Thyroid issues and such.
My brother and best friend both had the same issues in the mid twenties, both shave their heads. It looks cool on them.
Any hair therapy- to help you grow your hair is a lifetime commitment, if you even stop using them- your hair falls out and stops growing again. So its a life choice you need to make. Not to depress you- but why waste the money on expensive products for temporary fix.
I however have another option, its a hair weave, we do them in high end salons, its a "wig" piece that slides into your hair and is either removable or glued in place and washable and everything.
Don't freak- we thin haired woman do it. Its is not cheap, but worth every penny.
You have seen them on men- Robin Williams, Nick Cage, John Travolta, Bruce Willis, Ted Danson just to name a few. They look great. These men are really bald and wear both pieces and full male wigs (toupee).
The only one that will know is the girlfriend, hairdresser and you.
Dude its not the Life you would like I'm sure- but you have options. Have fun. its only hair.
Woman love men for them, not their hair. really! I wouldn't lie about love.

Dude, Sorry it is probably due to heriditary factors. A few things slow down it's progression, but you will be bald. Nothing is worse than a comb over. Acceptance is the key here. Go ahead and shave it off. Bald is "in" right now.

Hi,
I have lost all the hair on top of my head, i have a lot around the edges and back and grows well. I have been told that it is heredity. I have also been told that since i was a teenager up until age 33 I had a poor diet , high stress, high blood pressure, border line diabetic etc...
At age 33 i changed jobs lowering my stress levels, lost 70 lbs, im off high blood pressure medicine and blood sugar levels are in check. I have changed my lifestyle and eating habits. I no longer drink any alcohol and eat very healthy, lots of veggies, fruits, hardly any red meats, no fast foods or processed foods, eat mainly salmon, tuna, salads etc...
With all that said I stopped my hair losses, Actually some of my hair grows back on top regularly, but not enough to look good so i keep it cut off.
Im not sure if this is the real reasons, but at least i feel good about myself and feel good with lots of energy and dont need any viagra to keep it up , he he !!
Good luck!! Gippy!

Forget anything you have ever been told about Diabetes.
And get this - it has nothing to do with insulin, exercise, diet or anything else you've heard in the past. It's all based on latest breakthrough research that Big Pharma is going Stir Crazy to hide from you.

If this is hereditary there is not much you can do other then hair replacement. If it is not hereditary check with your doctor. There are some medical conditions that can cause thinning or balding for both men and women.

Talk to your doctor and maybe even a hairstylist about safe medications you could talk to help it grow back. I wouldn't start taking any hair growth medications until you get one approved a professional.
