Signing the ticket just acknowledges that you received a copy. They can still hand you a copy later.

A lot of this depends on the state you live in and where you got the ticket. Under most state laws, cops require you to sign the ticket IF you are from out of state and can arrest you if you don't, however if it is in state, there is no requirement about signing it.
Stop driving while your license is suspended, they suspended it for a reason, not just as some pretty piece of paper for their own pleasure. If you had obeyed the law the first time, you wouldn't be there now.

You don't mention what area you live in. If its in Northern Ontario then wait for the police to arrive at your door, they will take you to the station and book you in then the will release you, when you finally get in front of a judge a couple of months later, you will probable get a $100 fine maximum. Should you break the law again within the time that the police arrest you and the time you go to court don't worry about it because it has nothing to do with your previous conviction. If you have to go to court the second time be sure that you don't have the same judge, in other words go to court and if the same judge is on the bench simply walk out and wait to get rearrested which usually takes about 2 months.

In Missouri, signing the ticket just means that you understand the charges against you; it's not a plea of guilty. You are not required to sign the ticket, and not signing it does not get you out of any fine or sentence for the offense. Most states, I believe, have similar laws.

If that is your only defense, buy a nice bike and a bus pass. If your attorney has this going to a jury trial based soley on the fact you didn't sign the ticket, you are being taken to the cleaners.

Yes honey you can still be fined and required to do jail time if its ordered. Signing it just means you recieved a copy of it. My husband yrs back never signed his copy and he got a 500 dollar fine and 30 days jail time served every other weekend 48 hrs at a time with 15 suspended. This was before we met
