275 series will fit an 15X8 rim with the right offset with no problems. The front I have gone with a 245 series with no problems. And no they will not pop off the rims.

shouldn't have any problems with that set up,most aftermarket wheels have 4" offset spacing and there is a lot of room in the fenderwells on that cutlass, I have 15x8 wheels all the way around on my 67 chevelle with 295-50 series tires on the back and they fit just perfect where the outer edge of the tire comes out even with the fender well opening and on the front I have 215x65 series tires.

I'm certain you can get away with 15 x 7 with no problem. The back spacing is important when buying any wheel. Never change this number. Too bad we don't now each other. I've got a pair of 15 x 8's in my cellar off a late 70's Corvette. I'd give them away. You could mount a tire up and check for clearances. The more I think about it, why don't you try ebay and pick one of these wheels up, they've got the correct 4 3/4 bolt pattern and the correct back spacing. Go to a large auto scrap yard and have them look one up on their computer and it'll be shipped to your yard. Good Luck1

The 225's on the front may be ok but the 255 on the 8 inch rims no!! they are to wide and could pop off the rims, I wouldnt do it, too dangerous, the widest on 8 inch should be 235's and on the 7 inch 215's. Cheers

Use P225/70r15 on front and P255/60r15 on rear. I would suggest using BFG radial T/A's. Or you could tottally pimp it out with 17x9 ARE salt flats all the way around. I have a 69 cutlass S with OEM Olds wheels and 225/70r15 front and 235/70r15 on rear. And I have been in the tire and rim business for 20 years.

information are lacking in this question. The 16 interior the 225/60/16 is the rim length (diameter) The 225 is the width in millimeters (this is about) 8.8" and the 60 is basically the ratio of ways a lot sidewall there is to the width. So no, the 16" tires you've will no more effective healthful the 20" rims.

they should fit but if you might have turning problems in the front so id say to get about an inch of offset if you do have that problem before you buy the tires have them test fit something if your really spending some money on them
