I'm worried that the temporary ones will look ugly or fall out during the three weeks it takes for the lab to make the permanent ones. They're for my two upper front teeth.

The dentist should/will do everything he can to make the temps look as natural as he can. They glue them in pretty snug, so unless you're eating things you're not suppose to, they will stay in place until the permanent crowns are ready.

avoid chewing in that area because it can become infected and inflamed even some more = which causes more pain. I would say keep trying to put it back on but if your having trouble you might want to have someone help you. The reason why i'm saying this is because you won't be going back to the Dentist until monday so it will be 3 days before you can get it properly seen. A whole lot can happen in 3 days but not too much. Usually takes a while for an infection to set in. Be sure to rinse your mouth too to clean the area and to keep any food away from there. I'm not aware of a substance that Dentists use to keep the caps in place, I think they are fitted to attach securely to your remaining tooth. Sorry if this doesn't help. ..

Not at all! The temporaries are made from a composite material (very much like the material used in an anterior filling) and shaded to match your own tooth color. I've made bridges, veneers and upper and lower crowns for all anterior teeth. Most people don't want to get the real crown, they fit and feel so good. The average person can't tell they are temporaries. They are made from an impression of what your natural tooth looked like, so it will be an exact replica. Except if you've broken your natural tooth, then we just have to adjust a little to make it look like it is suppose to look. They aren't ugly, and don't fall off. We use some pretty tough cement to fit them temporarily, you have to do your part of coarse, no gum or chewing sticky tough foods. We usually have to use hemostats to remove them when you come back in. So unless you plan on smacking some gum, eating bunches of candy bars or crunching on some nuts, then you should be safe. Hope I've cleared this up, I should know, I've made thousands of them!

DON"T USE SUPER GLUE! They're temporary for a reason. They're not going to look perfect but, they shouldn't be ugly. Sometimes they do fall out. If this happens you can always call the office to have them seated with temp cement or if that's not an option then you can always put it in yourself with fixodent or some type of denture adhesive. If you're really in a pinch use toothpaste. Make sure you clean out the temp carefully and clean around the prepped tooth carfully. Make sure your tooth and the temporary are dry too.

no i have made a temp crown myself working in the dentists office they wont fall out if you dont chew gum or tear foods off the bone with your teeth cut apples cut chicken etc nothing chewy or sticky they tell you ya can eat anything but their in there with a temp cement so... they will be fine eat gently.. avoid hot hot teas and coffees as this may loosen the cement.. and if it does save the temp crown no matter what.. and see the dentist in an emergency appt usually the hygenist can temp cement a crown in .. and it will be no charge but after perm ones are in it can be 30 -4 0 for a cement.. so if it fall sout at work take dentemp from the toothpaste section at your pharmacy an keep it close by .. if they fall out u can glue it on ur self at work until u get to the dentist.. make sure u fit it 1st so u know which way it goes on then glue it in with the dentemp.. its about 5 bux but buy it now.. keep all this in mind as it happens....they sand ur teeth down like the size of a tic tac so the crown can fit over it.. reason u dont want it to be loose as it if comes off some people swallow it some people can get the tooth under exposed to decay if they go without it for too long and if u have it come off for more than 2 days ur teeth shift from chewing that the crown may not fit so be aware of this as well..

Your temporary crowns will be made chair side and Your dentist will not let you leave looking bad.... your mouth is a reflection of them. You temporaries will be made of acrylic. The same thing that fake nails are made of. They will be white.... maybe not as white as your own but it is only for three week. They should not come out as long as you don't chew anything chewy or sticky so stay away from the Carmel's..... If they do come out call your dentist and they will get you in an re cement them ASAP... I assist for these EVERYDAY.... I have never had an unhappy patient. good luck.

No the temporary will look nice but its a chance that it will fall out if you are not careful and follow your discharge instructions as they were given....They are cemented with temporary cement so they dont last that long only a week or two at the most!

No, they are not ugly and will not fall out. I had all my upper teeth crowned and had no difficulties with the temporary crowns.

No they won't look ugly and they won't fall out. I had temps put in which lasted four months, (most insurances didn't cover crowns back then so I was saving up the money).

they should not discolor but be careful because the cement used to hold them in is temporary so do not eat on those teeth for 3 weeks you can eat whatever you want to but not directly on them.
