From your history it is probably apparent that YOU DID HAVE A STOKE. As stoke can also happen because of EMBOLISM, probably that was what caused it since you say you had a swelling after pregnancy but found it missing after the recovery from stroke. In pregnancies, there is a likelihood of deep vein thrombosis (DVT). The thrombus once formed, can get dislodged from the site that it originated to another site anywhere in a body, causing problems. This thrombus could have been dislodged and was very likely to have been the cause of your stroke (because of thromboembolism). Remaining recovery would be extremely slow and tedious. Good luck. Do keep exercising regularly and do not sit or lie for a prolonged period. If ever you feel pain and swelling over the thighs or lower legs, please tell your doctor immediately as it could be another bout of DVT.

Strokes usually occur on the left side of the brain, which controls the right side of the body. A left-brain stroke will affect speech and language. From what you describe, the left side of your body is affected which would imply that something is going on in the right side of your brain. I don't know if you truly had a stroke or not....there is something referred to as a transiet ischemic attack or "mini-stroke." But I checked this website and some of your symptoms are consistent with "right-side" stroke.

I also wonder if you have some kind of seizure disorder or perhaps fibromyalgia? http://www.fibromyalgia-symptoms.org/fibromyalgia_treatment.html Just guesses. Either way, how frustrating it must be that they can't figure out what's wrong! Best of luck to you!

Were you actually diagnosed as having had a stroke? Did they do brain scans? It could be something like multiple sclerosis either. I hoope it isn't but it certainly needs follow up investigations. Good luck.

Did you get a thyroid test? that can make you tired and confused if its not working properly..

However I get migraine headaches and a lot of your symptoms appear with those, especially the pins and needles, mental slowness and tiredness, and of course the flippin head pain.

You need to see your doc ASAP, who should refer you to a neurologist if he has no explanation for your symptoms.
