well first of put that salt shaker down as it will do nothing but dry your hair and wreck your scalp. it all comes down to what colour hair you have.

if it's blonde you can go with a honey and lemon juice it will both lighten and give it a nice sheen. just use 1tablespoon of honey add to 4 cups of warm water add a drizzle of lemon and mix until it's all dissolved, pour through your hair , don't rinse out and sit in the sun- don't forget sunscreen like i did :D

Darker shades of hair is little bit more difficult to lighten with out chemicals. but if you want a semi-natural fix go to your local health store and ask about henna, most of the time they are able to give you a henna cream that has lightner chemicals in it but still gives you a good condition on your hair.

If you are considering doing anything with your hair such as lightening it make sure it's in good condition and have a friend on stand-by incase of an accident and you end up having to go to the hairdressers anyway.

if you just want to improve colour then have a look at this website or just type hair rinses into google

best of luck

Salt?? I've never heard of that but I do know that lemon juice works. Now im not talking about squeezing lemon juice into a bowl and pouring it over your head! I'm talking about taking the bowl of juice, dipping your hands in it, and lightly stroking your hair. I know that for a fact this works great because my naturally black haired friend went to brown only using highlights of lemon juice! how cool rite?

hope this helps! <33

Nothing natural other than sun will lighten your hair enough to notice. That, and certain methods like lemon juice will just turn it orange.

This might be a bit old fashioned - but it can work - try squeezing lemon juice in your wet hair and sitting in the sun to let it dry. Hope this helps

sprinkling salt will dry out your hair..it won't lighten it. you can wash your hair with lemon juice or oranges....or anything citrus-y will do it.
