I met this girl not too long ago through one of my cousins, who lives in the same state as the girl I'm now seeing. We get along great, but only get to see each other on weekends because we live two states apart. We also e-mail, IM and call each other from time to time during the week. I've never had any long-distance relationships before, so I really don't know what to expect. If all goes well between my girl and I, I plan to move to her state in a few years, but that's still a long ways off. So, for those who have been in long-distance relationships: are they worth the investment (e.g., time, Greyhound bus tickets most weekends) and risk (e.g., the chance of her seeing someone else during the week)?

Well sweetie I am in a long distance relationship and we're states apart. We talk to each other every day, most of the day. We don't get to see each other at all. I trust him and love him, and we're planning on getting married. So he doesn't have time to do anything else and neither do I. Though the feeling of he or she being with someone else is going to be difficult, your heart has to be there for you to even want to take that risk. Give it time though, because only time will tell. It could be one of the best things for you or one of the worst things. Everyone isn't my boyfriend and I so I can't say that things will work out between you and her, but the fact that it was long distance and you were willing to go through is very promising. Good luck sweetie!

a long distance makes you develop trust it doesnt mean you will have it. it is true she could cheat on you, but you can too. temptation will get to both of you. it depends on your love if it will work out. my gf and i live 1 hour apart and we love each other. i used to see her with my mom's car with a lerners permit and i risked the chances of getting a ticket. i adore her and we both know we wont cheat on each other. in the end you will gain a lot of trust and by missing each other it will be a more pleasurabl;e meet when you see each other. a better kiss, a better hug, a better moment. believe me.

A lot of them don't work out. However -- it all depends on how much commitment the two of you have. If you're will to work at it, it's of course possible. And may make for a stronger relationship down the road when you can spend more time together.

I say it's worth a shot. It doesn't work for everybody, but for a lot of people it does. I am in one right now and i only see him for a couple of weeks every couple months, but we love eachother so we make it work. We've been going out for a year now. We talk on the phone every night and i send him packages. If it's true love, then it will work out. Good luck!

Long distance relationships work. Call them everyday to make it seem as if you're there physically with them. If you truly love this person and is faithful it is worth it.

E-mailing and texting. When you write him make sure you kiss the envelope with the lipstick or gloss that you wear. When you send a card always spray a little of your favorite perfume on it.
