Yes, for the Indians! Our small town has a casino and granted they do hire white people but they fire them after a few months, One lady was working at Casino for seven years and was qualified for manager, she applied and ended up fired! Their reasoning was she forgot to sign a paper and they could not allow that!! The whites earn their benefits and lose their jobs! The Indians get first crack at the best jobs and only if they can't find enough Indians do others get a shot. The divorce rate and foreclosures in this town is way out of proportions for this small town. Many homes have been lost to the bank, kids go without so parents can gamble. It's a disgusting thing to happen to a community!! The Indians are also buying up most of the lands because they have the money!

Sure. Casinos are a business just like any other. They provide employment and entertainment for people who like to gamble.

One might ask if tattoo parlors are 'beneficial.' Many people might consider them pointless as they have no desire to get a tattoo.

The problem with most people who ask this question is that they are discussing whether casinos should be banned or remain legal. Many moral police believe that casinos are sinful and morally wrong because people can become addicted to gambling and squander lots of money in them.

But in a free society casinos, tattoo parlors, liquor stores, strip clubs etc. all have their place. People can exercise their freedom to not go there if they don't like them. I am against the concept of using the law to legislate morality.

I work at a casino in Vegas, so it is beneficial to me and other employees. I guess for gamblers they are beneficial and of course the owners.

They are not beneficial to people who spend all their money in the casinos without paying the bills. A lot of people here suffer because of them, especially people on fixed income.

The answer depends on what angle you are looking at. In the Yes category, you have benefits such as increased employment, tourism, and taxes that go to things such as schools, public libraries, etc.

I'm from Arkansas and right now the state is in the No position. The greatest reason is due to the issue of morality. Many believe it is wrong to gamble. There are also reasons of increased crime, and gambling addiction.
