Dude I totally hear you. I HATED school growing up (I still hate even thinking about). It was the worst time of my life. The best thing I can tell you is that it got better. I went on to live a happier life as I got older. Its a crappy phase and it like a bad meal will pass.
You may well be depressed. This very very common and nothing to be afraid of. Facing it is the start. Understand that depression is often a combination of chemical and environment factors. So its time for you to improve the quality of your life.
#1 - If you aren't already, get into a physically active program as soon as possible. I have found HUGE improvements in my depression. See how you feel after 6 weeks. I find it distracts my thinking and increases the endophins my brain produces.
#2 - Find more hobbies to distract you. Socializing and improving yourself will help you increase yourself esteem. I joined a martial arts class as a kid to help me improve my confidence and fend off the bullies.
#3 - Here is an exercise I did. I marked on a calendar every "bad day" I had and why. I then similarly marked the "neutral days" and the "good days". After a month I looked at it and saw that I really only had a few events a month that were "bad days" and the rest of the time I was dwelling on it. This helped change my focus.
#4 - The medical side of the world will talk to you about two options 1. Medications 2. Therapy. Typically both options will work better than either one independently.
#5 - Talk to your family and friends if you can.
Drugs are one of MANY options. You need to tackle the problem from multiple directions.
Good Luck, now get off your butt and do something about it.

My only qualifications to answer this are that I have suffered from depression- I have been medicated for it- I'm feeling pretty good right now. Life is way too short...
You don't say how old you are. You definitely need to talk to someone. It's real and it doesn't play fair.
Know this. God don't make no junk. You are worthy, loved and there is something that only you are capable of bringing to this world. If you're depressed- it could be that your destiny is so incredible that the opposition will do anything to keep you from it. Find something you do love. That's easy, fun- dig into it so deep that you haven't got time to cry. Crying IS good for the soul- washes away the boogies.
I wouldn't be doing you any favors if I didn't mention God. He wanted me to answer this for you. I'm not preaching- also personal experience in helping me kick depression- Just ask Him- tell Him- you don't know if He's real, but if He'll show Himself to you, you may be open to it...
Live, love, laugh- it is all waiting for you. You are loved. Be blessed.

Although some people feel depressed in response to a sad event in their lives, you don't need a reason to be depressed. Depression is an illness. You could be the most successful person in the world and not have any worries and still suffer from depression.
Please see a psychiatrist or other mental health professional so that they can evaluate you and recommend a course of treatment.

It sounds like you're really lacking in self confidence. I know because hey I'm there. Try to find the things you excel in concentrate on these areas. You say you have a lot of friends so it sounds like they'll be supportive. I think when you find your nitch it'll help. As far as wishing you were dead just think of all the things you won't be leaving behind because you cut your live so short. Perhaps there is a chemical imbalance in your body system causing the depression please check it out

You are feeling this way because your soul is trying to tell you something very important. Your soul is trying to communicate with you. A bigger part of you is helping you this way to realize what a precious little angel you are. Is making you aware that you are feeling disconnected (hence the pain in form of depression) when actually you are always connected to everything and everybody around you including God. What you are experiencing is forcing you to evolve, to move to the next level of consciousness, and that is very exciting! So go ahead and yes; CELEBRATE your depression! That's right. Say to it: "Hey, Depression? Why did you pick me? Ah, it doesn't matter; you're here now, so....what do we do now? Is there anything particular that you want me to do?" Have fun with it, that's right; treat it as if it was your best friend, because indeed it is. Depression is your gift from your soul, a gift to awakening. Your soul wants you to awake from the long dream you've been immersed for very long now (many, many life times) so it send you your little friend (Depression) to do it's work. So here she is just doing its work:” Wake up darling, come on, wake up my little Angel, oh, you're still sleeping. I guess I'll have to do something that will make you uncomfortable then, sorry...I don't want to hurt you, but you must wake up. Wake up sleepy head...”
That's all. There is nothing wrong with you my dear, you are simply waking up to something that is extraordinary, and I bet that Angels in heaven are dancing right now seeing you still all confused but on your way to new life! I know my heart is dancing from the joy! Wake up baby, it's time. And don't be afraid; you won't be alone when your dream is over.
Go within yourself, my sweet, and work with your friend-Depression. Be loving to it and forgiving. You can say something like:" O.K, O.K I get it, you want my attention. All right now, I'm hear, I'm listening." And then let yourself to feel whatever it is that you're feeling. Don't try to fix anything for now, just feel it whatever it is. This is called acceptance. Pretty soon you will feel very, very peaceful, and eager to help others to feel the same way. Are you as excited as I am for you?

The first answer is correct and I'm sorry both of you have to go through this. But the first answer is also correct about seeing a psychiatrist and the meds. Both are very easy to do these days. Good Luck to you.>

This is called clinical depression, being depressed with no actual situation to be depressed about, you need to see a psychiatrist. The medicines they have now can perform miracles

Draw a picture of what the guy looked like that suspended Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte Stallworth hit and killed when he drove after drinking. The guy was a pedestrian and Stallworth hit him with his car as the guy was crossing the street.
