and when you did talk, he would laugh nervously, does it mean hes interested?

i really want to get to know him better as friends first, but hes so shy...what should i say to him, I get so nervous around him.

If he's nervous, it sounds like he's willing to take it slow just like you. what are you worried about? If all else fails, you gain a friend.
