Why the big secret? Your fiance should have told your family about his plans months ago. So he should call them up and talk to them about it ASAP. Then you can have a birthday party with your ring on.

WOW ~ being engaged and planning a wedding is supposed to be one of the happiest times in your life. If you are happy then family should be happy for you. Send "Save the Date" cards, basically tells them, 'hey we are getting married on this date, look for invitation and save the date'.

i was there in your exact position last may. with finals and a wedding, and my husband in the army and 4 hours away (at the time) plus, he was in the field, meaning he was NOT available. you need to take a breath, calm down, and write out lists of everything that needs to get done. you might try yoga too- it's calming, it will put your mind at ease, and also, you'll look great for your wedding! but you need to tell your family about your engagement pronto!!

If you are old enough to get married , then learn to take on responsibility for your action, "BE A MAN"! they will get over it.Just sit with them and tell them,I promise you will be less stressed afterwards.
