Poster paint is not really much good for on walls. It dries and tends to flake off. It will wipe off too easy yet leave stains on the paint under it.
You don't say what you want to do with the paint but if its to paint the whole wall, its not worth the effort it will take.
If you are asking because you want to paint things onto your wall, try crafter's acrylic paint. You can buy the bottles in most stores that carry any kind of craft supplies and even in some dollar stores. There are tons of different colors to chose from and they last quite well even in areas that need constant washing.

If you want to do a small painting something like a pop art or physchedelic painting Like Peter Max or Andy Warhol style it would be ok. But to paint the whole wall would look bad.

It depends what you're going to do with it, if you want it temporary, then just paint it on there with a primer underneath, but if you want it to stay on your walls permanently, you might want to find a clear topcoat of wall laquer, because if you leave it as it is, it will fade and flake off.

It flakes off after a short time (couple of months) and takes the undercoat with it. I did this in my daughter's room. Not a good idea.

You can try soaking the wall paper with a garden sprayer. At least removing the paper this way won't burn your hands.
