I think my cat found a male cat a couple nights ago. She was in heat then. She still acts like she is in heat -- but could be pregnant from her recent outing?

As the first person said, yes she'll stay in heat. There can be multiple fathers of a litter of kittens (70-83% of urban domestic cat litters have kitten with different fathers). This means that the female is going to go around and call for as many males as possible. I know my aunts cat had 12 kittens (likely from 4 different fathers although some researchers have noted up to 5 fathers for 6 kittens (they did genetic tests of the kittens)). I agree with the first writer - have her spayed if you can afford it or at least keep her away from mature males!

Yes she could still be in heat even if she is pregnant. She will keep mating until her "season" is over. She is programed to find the mate with the best gene pool so she will continue to mate (and attract males with her noises) even if she is pregnant. You may want to have her fixed since cats have more than 1 heat a year.

Cats will release several eggs and she will stay in heat until every eggs has meet sperm. My cat Gracie had three litters and she had 5 each time, I had a friend who's cat had one kitten twice I had a friend who's cat had 7 kittens 4 times. every time the same amount of kittens. I got my Gracie spayed after the 3 litter. I should have done it before she even had one litter.

She could be. Female cats stay in heat until they are bred, when they ovulate and can become impregnated. Females usually yowl a lot until they go out of heat. They're referred to as "induced ovulators" because the act of breeding causes ovulation. She could be, but it's difficult to tell. I'm sure 500 people will tell you to get her spayed... so I'll forgo the lecture.
