Best would have to be Paul Gascoigne, but the Englishman I admire most is Mark Walters. He took the abuse handed out from all supporters, including Gers fans, and still performed at a high level. I admire his consistency of play despite constant verbal and visual taunts!

For me it has to be Mark Hately, I kind of had the hots for him as well, had a wee fantasy about him and Richard Gough in a communal bath!!
But he was a fantastic player, dead physical, could provide as well as score and you kinda forgot he was English after a while!
