You only need to do a search on here to see how many people are having problems with IE7. The best thing to do is download Mozilla Firefox available from http://www.mozilla.com/ Its faster, more user friendly, easily customisable to suit your needs and no problems.

goto task manager(right click the taskbar)it should be running as mcrndl or similar under processes,if u can see it and know the short names of programs and are confident u see it right click it and stop it from running,i have had this on my pc and it seem to come from a bt broadband set up disk or wireless broadband by bt ,it is owned by motive software and whenever i have finally deleted it my restore points or a restore point has been infected with a malware(high alert)item, ive run avg anti-malware anti-virus 7.5 after and it has quarantined this because it cannot be cleaned/or disinfected its quite troublesome and slows the pc down,if u get the oblong box at start up informing u of a smartbridge error u will probably find if u try to close that warning it keeps reappearing everytime u move the mouse and its on top of all other windows,i kept on going to task manager and ending the process there even then it said that the program was not responding i had quite a struggle to rid my pc of this pest, also the icon that isassociated with this in the sys tray(bottom right)is a red and white cross keep searching around task manager after right clicking the sys tray and exit the icon and look for change of or loss of a process when you are sure stop it from running do a complete anti-virus/spyware scan restart the pc and scan again if u capture it in a restore point delete it.it also has a tracking cookie called atdmlt or similar associated with it also

This file usualy comes as part of scheduled upgrades , check that you have SP2 installed correctley. and that you have the following installed Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1 Hotfix (KB886903) it will install without this but runs far better when installed . IE7 usually will not install without SP2 but requires full version for best performance . ....Hope this helps I have run IE 7 for quite a while now with no problems at all ......Vortash

Yes I had the same as you Psapi.dll is a system file.
You have to inseret your operating system CD into CD rom and select "repair" option from setup menu.
Your PC will malfunction untill you do this. There is no alternative choices.
