My dog died recently (a boxer, we had her for 13 years!). I really want my next dog to be a boston terrier. I love their friendly personalities, and I think I'm ready for a smaller dog after having a big one for so long. However, I don't want to spend a huge fortune (I'd be willing to go up to 400), and I'm afraid of getting an unhealthy puppy. Any advice?

What an excellent choice! We have two Boston Terriers named Nibbles and Bits. They are sisters and are the best dogs we have and have ever had.

I suggest looking up some private breeders. You could go and check out there Kennels. If you find them appealing (meaning, they are clean, the dogs are groommed well, etc.) then you should save there number.

Other people, like BYB, (back yard breeders) you should stay far away from. There puppies are almost always sick and will die before a week after you buy them.

Occasinally, you can find a Boston at your local animal shelter. Whom you should be able to trust them to give you a healthy dog. Though at our shelters it is very uncommon to find one.

You should check your local listings and check out some of these sites I searched for you:
