You'll have to give it time. As time passes and you don't mess around, that will prove it. Actions speak louder than words.

Become a friend again, before you become boyfriend and girlfriend. As friends, then be an example. It will take time. It wont happen overnight. Even as friends, dont entertain the idea of having another girlfriend just because you are just friends now. Everything you do should be a sign that demonstrates what your intentions are. Dont tell her that you are doing these things just do it and she will see it for herself. I'm 39 and have lots of experience thru the years

The only thing he can do is not do it. Either the girlfriend trust him or she doesn't. Let her go everywhere with him, and when she can't or he can't take her make sure he tells her where he went and what he did. Trust is the most important key to any relationship, and once you've tested it or broken it then it is very hard to get it back. So I'm guessing he already broke this trust, nice of you to give him a second chance. Just do what suggested. Good luck babe!

He'd have to bend over backgrounds, grovel at my feet, and come crawling to me if he cheated on me in the past.

Be careful, though. I believe in 'once a cheater, always a cheater.' If he did it once without thinking twice about it, he'll do it again.

But, if he can REALLY prove to you otherwise, then the rest is up to you.

Why do you put yourself through this? Is it worth it? You're probably very young and you're wasting valuable time worrying about a cheating boyfriend. What about your education, going to college and being a productive person in the future? Yes, it's a "comment" and probably not what you want to hear. That's your problem, you don't want to listen to reason...you just want to hear what you want to hear.

there is nothing really that he can do to prove this. trust takes time to build up.

having said that, why are you getting back together? truthfully, your boy is unlikely to respect him if you will let him get away with treating you like crap - and will be more likely to do it again.

Trust has to be re-established to prove and it usually takes time and patience.

give undivided, genuine attention by engaging in/participating in conversation that has some depth and transparency into who he truly is as a person....not sports scores and movie reviews,etc....and an occasional "wow, you look really beautiful this evening.." and catching him looking at you with stars in his eyes is helpful.
