Check out www.bluenile.com.

I have a friend in the wholesale jewelry business and she says they have really good quality at very competitive prices.

Tiffany has classic designs and provides detailed documentation re: diamond's quality. (www.tiffany.com)

Promise rings are not the same as engagement rings. A promise ring is a ring promising to stay true to each other. There is still no promise of marrying with a promise ring. An engagement ring is a ring that symbolized that the 2 people agree to get married and plan a wedding in the near future

Don't worry about the designer, worry about the jeweler. You want to deal with a reputable jeweler, the rest will take care of itself. Find a jeweler who has been in business for a long time, get references, call the Better Business Bureau. Also, anything you agree to buy, first get an INDEPENDENT appraisal on. Many jewelers will offer "free appraisals" but they're doing the appraisal, so it's not worth much, if you know what I mean. Here's a good article for you to read....

Sterling Jewelers (Jareds) has beautiful rings, and you can choose your semi mount and diamond separately, so your ring will be unique. All of their diamonds are GIA certified. They also have jewelers on site to put it together for you right there. Jareds.com

there are plenty of high end jewelers who can help you pick yours, but the most important thing is that the stone has a certification from the GSI, that way you are sure of what you're getting.
