I've heard that Full Tilt is still business as usual, except you have to use a debit card to deposit and get paid by check. How is that not illegal? Does anyone know if there are plans to close the loophole they're using? Can anyone give me first hand confirmation that Full Tilt still accepts American players and deposits?

Yes, Full Tilt still accepts Americans. My friend just played there today, and I still have an account there. It isn't illegal for Americans to play there, the laws do target the transfers instead. I doubt every loophole will be closed. There's still a lot of sites allowing Americans to play, http://www.ultimatepokerbankroll.com has a list. Right now it seems like it is harder to deposit, but new options should open up soon.

It's not illegal because America does not rule the world. There are plenty of companies that accept players from America. They don't really care what laws America passes. They are operating outside of American jurisdiction and so anyone can play.

The laws recently passed in America do not actually make it illegal to gamble in the US. The laws target financial institutions and online gambling companies wishing to set up shop in America. Americans can still gamble at any site that will accept their money.

What's sad is that Americans are being marginalized in this way. America is supposed to be a free country. So why can't American have the freedom to play poker anywhere they want? It's their money and should be their right.

In answer to the other part of your question I have a friend that deposited around $500 within the last month. He is having no problem playing. In fact he just won a tournament worth $16,000.

The recent legislation that was passed regulates banks. It prevents the transfer of funds from a bank to the gambling site. Full Tilt is not prevented by the legislation from operation. It does not make gambling on the Internet illegal.

Most people use VPN connections to unblock websites, is good to access blocked sites such as the BBC iPlayer outside of the UK and Hulu out of USA. Also gives anonymous browsing as well which is good when at work I guess.

Yes you can still play at FULL TILT. Use EPASSEPORTE.
By the way that's not the only site open to US players. POKER STARS, DOYLES ROOM, ABSOLUTE POKER, ULTIMATE BET.......and more.

Take care
