It seems lilke every guy I come across is very athletic, has pictures of himself waterskiing, scubadiving, and the such. He talks about needing someone who can keep up with him. And is always on the go. He loves his job, and has super children, and keeps in great shape and on and on if you see what I mean. I don't find it necessary to boast and brag and make everything sound wonderful. Why can't people be real and act normal and show pictures of themselves in normal situations as I really don't want to see these guys in their swimshorts till I get to know them, and besides how many people spend all their time waterskiing and diving? They make me feel like I have no life just because I prefer less active things and don't find it necessary to be in water all the time. Why does everyone come across as not being able to stand still for a moment? What is so bad about coming home after work and relaxing rather than going for 3 hours to the gym?

Because if you sound too boring, no one will be interested in you. Would you be interested in responding to an ad in which the guy says "I'm not athletic or in great shape, I work 9 to 5, come home, have dinner, watch the news and go to bed."?????

I totally agree with you. Basically I think most people do that because online you can make yourself out to be the person you've always wanted to appear as. You take the best of yourself (the vacation/waterskiing/swimshorts) pics, describe how your life WOULD be if you had lots of money to throw around, and then throw in whatever song is most popular at the time. It's a chance to appear as flawless before the world. And not many people can pass up that chance.

Yeah I'm way to lazy to update my profile that much.

Well actually its not laziness. I work from when after I get my son on the bus and my wife to work (around 8:30am) to about 2:30 when I go to a second job until 8pm. My daytime work is photography (fine art) so it occupies a lot of my thought and time.

I think that they might do it to try and impress the women or maybe they are trying to out do their buddies. To see how many women they can add as "friends", like when they go to the bar together they compete to see how many digits they can score. If that is not the reason, then they have to make themselves look all big and bad to make up for other aspects they might be lacking!! Ya think?!

They fill it in as if it is a cv for a job and what you descibe aredesigner things that people like to be seen doing. Go for people with more simple profiles and you may strike gold.

I am with you. I love coming home from work to relax. At work, I am constantly on the go, when I get home I just want to sit.

he's trying to attract females like you. those pictures they have of themselves are just like big billboards in New York. Personally, i think it's a waste of time going to the gym every day of the week. just as along as they're healthy. but they're still advertising.
