If God created us all and knows what our lives hold in the future and knows everything then when He created the person/angel that Satan was wouldnt He have known that Satan would become Satan? I have been told that Satan was a fallen angel - a worship leader. But surely God would have known. Also another big question that I have is why did God kill so many people? It doesnt seem like Him -our loving God who says in his commandments not to kill.

Dont worry I am not losing my faith - just two big questions that I have that i guess can cause me to question the Bible etc.

Surely many Christians have had these same questions?

Thanks

God creates angels and humans with free-will. God knew ahead of time of the angel and human rebellion, yet with free-will, it is the only way to truly love god. if we didn't have free-will, then we would be forced to love GOd, but that isn't his plan. God says that humans shouldn't kill, I believe that God alone is just he takes life in a just manner.

Yes. First off God is outside time so He not not only knew from the beginning, but He knew how it would end. Yes Satan was a fallen angel and a worship leader. He knew and allowed it because He also knew how much He would love us. And that love let Him go ahead with creation even knowing how it would turn out.
About the killing, in most instances it was because the children of Israel were being told to wipe out a group of people because the Lord knew they would end up turning away from Him and worshiping the gods of these other people. And in the cases where they didn't wipe them out, the Israelites did end up following the other gods and turning their back on God. The judges and the prophets would call out to God when they were ready to turn back to Him.

When God created all angels He created them perfect but gave them FREE WILL. He of course did not know of his angels will become Satan. It's a concept hard to accept but it's true. I guess we can use the illustration of a theif. A theif was not born a theif. He may have came from a very good family..honest hearted people/parents but of course becuase of FREE will to choose, he became a theif. Although God knows everything (our future) HE does not make our DESTINY. He all gave us the freedom to live the way we want just like the freedom He gave to his perfect creations.

If you are talking about the Flood, God saw nothing but BAD deeds from people. They were killing each other and was just doing bad things all the time. God felt hurt and wanted the badness to end. SO, by the Flood he destroyed all those who did not watnt to change. REMEMBER, God through Noah gave people the chance to CHANGE their bad ways so they don't get destroyed. Unfortunately, they did not listen and therefore was given the judgement of death.

God's knowledge is so vast that He knows the end as well as the beginning. He wanted His creation, Man, to freely love and fellowship with Him. But without the testing of the right to choose love really has no meaning. So God allowed satan to make his choice. satan chose sin and thereby became the very instrument to give man a choice. If man had chosen to love God supremely through obedience we wouldn't have a problem but of course he didn't. He chose disobedience - sin. Now the nature of sin has entered the world and every human being born is born with that fallen nature. So God (who already had the plan of salvation established before the foundation of the world) set His plan in motion to save everybody through the sacrifice of His Son Jesus. So He called Abraham from his fathers house to follow God to eventually bring about a nation (Israel) so that Christ could eventually be born into the world. Now if you knew that keeping this nation seperate from all other people groups, and not allowing them to be wiped out by disease, or corrupted in their following God by false gods etc, etc was absolutely necessary to save every living person on the planet time without end - don't you think that is more important than fooling around with people who had already made their evil decisions and would not change no matter what you did? God evidently thought so - because that is precisely what He did. And the rest is eternal history...

That is so cool that you are wondering this! The first one, I am going to say that I really don't know. I WILL ask my Bible teacher tonight, I will be seeing him in about an hour anyways. The second...I assume you mean that the people "God" killed in the Old Testament. The Old Testament Law or Genesis-Deuterononmy lays down the set of blessings, and cursings that have to do with obedience and disobedience/sin. It is under the old system of atonement. There are two systems of atonement, old and new, the OT was under the old system, the NT is under the new system. The Old system and the new system differ in many ways. A couple being: The old system was required to be done by the priests. It was all the sacrifices and such that was done in the OT. The priests ALL came from the tribe of Levi.(Levites were all the priests). Both systems of atonement required the shedding of blood. The Old system was the blood of animals and the new system the blood of Christ. The new system came from the tribe of Judah (Christ's line). So that was the WAY they were cleansed from their sins. But, they still had MANY laws and such to follow that the Israelites continued to ignore and reject. In Deuteronomy there is a chapter where they list the blessings for obedience and the cursings for disobedience. There are 8 verses devoted to blessings. There are 43 devoted to cursings! God HATES sin!! HATES it. So the murders committed by "God" were murders that were done because of sin. We aren't killed today because of the new system of atonement. I hope this helps and if I can come back and edit my answer, I will or I will answer it on my frineds account. Her's is Anonymous, so you will know it is me, if that is what I need to do. Oh, and NEVER question the Bible. It is the ONLY thing we can rely upon.Life is short, pray; HARD!

Not sure on the angel that became Satan. He WAS an angel, but if I remember correctly eventually chose to reject God and was banished. Would God have known? Good question...you'd think so, but you will have to ask him. As for killing, God doesn't kill people, people kill people.

Lots of Christians have the same questions. That's why I can't decide on the death penalty issues. Good luck.

first of all you might be confused about terms. If God is all knowing It also says that God chooses to forget.
If lucifer was the name of the angel that fell and became SATAN, he was known by God to be very righteous and holy, until his pride and the promise of the godhead bent his heart to the ways of evil, and because he could not humble himself before the Lord Jesus christ, he wanted to rule over all the stars and not submit to the ONE chosen before him. therefore he became evil.
the choice that satan made may not have been known before hand because the time continuounce was a different reality than that of this mortal existence. i have visision of satan and all the fallen angels eluding the power of God through time travel, hence there is a TIME war going on. What is written in the scriptures is that God knows the beginning from the end, and the end from the beginning. And while eternity has no theoretical END, the book of revelation uses a phrase that discusses the term Everlasting to Everlasting which allegedally makes an end to eternity, from one point to another. Now if God knows all things he knows all things pertaining to whats Generation He is talking about, in each Everlasting time period.

worlds without End.

you are right - many Christians have had these same questions.

God doesn't tell us all things - but what He does tell we can trust and believe.

The question of evil: why God allowed Satan to become Satan, why God allows evil, why He allowed Adam & Eve to fall, why do bad things happen to good people, etc. are questions that will be discussed and argued until Jesus returns.

About the character of God:
We learn in the NT that Jesus was the "express image of the Father" (Hebrews chap.1). "If you have seen me you have seen the Father". etc. so if we examine the character of the Lord Jesus we get a full picture of who God really is. And what do we find - a person of compassion, mercy, grace, wisdom, righteousness....

Let the person and character of Jesus reveal to your heart who God is and what He is like.

god bless

Why did God kill so many people? You did realize that God kills EVERYONE (including you and me), didn't you? You didn't really think that you would live here forever in your mortal body on Earth, did you? God kills thousands of people every single day, and no one notices because people dying of old age does not make the news. The short answer would be that we all are condemned to die because of our own sinfulness.

Yes, God knew that Satan would rebel. Love is not really love unless it is freely given, and love cannot be said to have been freely given unless there is the real possibility of rejection. Free will implies that some people will choose poorly, but if God stopped them, then there is no longer any free will.

Obviously God allows evil to exist because evil must ultimately serve some good purpose in God's plan. I suppose that virtue is not real virtue unless one has a real choice, but chooses to do good anyway.

God had to let the sin issue come out in order to prove that He is the living just God that He claims to be. If no one ever challenged that notion how would we know that we really had free will? and for the other question read Ezekiel 18:20-32. Those people in Bible history that aligned themselves with God and His people were spared. See Rahab, the harlot,Josua chapter 2, & 6 for example.
