I got a '99 Ford Explorer for Christmas and it has a pretty nice sound system in it, so I don't want to have to rip it out or anything. It's a CD player... but my Q is, can I (and how if I can) hook my iPod nano up to my car's sound system. And, if I can, how do I do so without TOTALLY killing my iPod's battery??
Please and Thnak You!!

Piece of cake.

Go buy a 3d party transmitter for your ipod. (Belkin makes a decent one).

You
1) Plug in your ipod
2) Plug it into your cig. lighter
3) Dial up the right frequency on your fm radio

Listen....

(oh... and it not only doesn't USE your ipod battery, it CHARGES it.)

..
simple eh?

Katie,.. I'd look into an FM transmitter/charger unit. They run about $70-$90 and they're made for pretty much all the different iPods. It's basically a unit that plugs into your power outlet/cigarette lighter in the car. You slip your iPod into the unit and tune the transmitter part to an open radio frequency in your area. Then just tune your car radio to that same frequency and *abracadabra-peanut butter and jelly sandwiches* you can hear your music through your Explorer's stereo.

There is a reciever that lets you tune in your iPod to an FM radio station without any wires. To keep the battery on your iPod charged, buy a car charger for the iPod.

the terrific way is to get a FM transmitter that attaches to your iPod. this is going to shrink volume of time you get out of your battery by ability of roughly 30% whilst its plugged in, yet they artwork large. Griffin technologies makes particularly solid ones.
