In California and other states, neutering of 8 week old male kittens has been normal procedure for some time. Generally speaking, vets will wait until about 6 months when the testicles are distended, which means they have dropped and are fully visible.

I have three male cats. Two are both 16 years old the other is 4. You need to desex before they learn to spray. Once they spray they will always spray even after desexing them. So the sooner the better. My son got a kitten from the paws and he was told as early as 12 weeks is fine. So I'd do it soon.

Depends where you live. In some countries, they will neuter a male as early as 10-12 weeks. Generally, between 4-6 months is recommended.

I believe you have to wait at least six months. My grandmother tried to get her cat done and she had to wait untill he was a full six months old before the vet would do it
