Is it true that they markup their new cars 25%? I am negotiating a 27,500 (MSRP) car and want 22,500, but they don't seem to want to go down any lower than 23,000. What do you think. Oh, and it is a new 2006 model.

best place is to go to edmunds.com and click on either new or used cars and click on either price or sedans and you;ll get the dealer msrp ( window sticker price ) the invoice ( cost to dealer) and the tmv ( true market value for your area and that TMV is what you should be able to pay for the car. best to go internet buying so the salesman knows you got your figures on line. When you go internet they will give you a price with no hassle and if you like it give them a call and go in to buy it.
