Yes a large dose of Soma would be fatal and no I am not going to tell you how to kill yourself. If you are having problems get into therapy and have it fixed, death is a permanent solution to a temporary problem (from someone who has died and been brought back) Take the Soma as the doctor has prescribed for your muscle pain

RE:
How many soma tablets (muscle relaxers) would someone have to take to be fatal or to overdose and die?
I was wondering if too many regular Soma pills (muscle relaxers) can make you die? and If yes, how many would be fatal?

I used to take soma and my dr. told me he was taking me off of them, stating they make you crazy , after 4 years I had to quit with no notice, it was the best thing he ever did for me, thanks doc... my problem is I have a neicey I love very much and she gets them illegally, and seems that 12 at a time is a good number and she does this often and more often each day, stumbles , falls pisses herself the hole 9 yards, her dad, my brother, is a wreck and she lives with her mom , my neice is 40... her mom does not know how to handle it , they yell at her, but she insists she knows how many she can take and has been doing it for years.. How do I get it thru her head that 12 soma at a time is not an answer for anything.. my dr, said they were non addicting and I would feel only a small withdrawl.. I need to get her help, or her dad and mom do , how do we do this, I know baker acting aint **** as they keep u for 3 days, is there a way to get this under control, shes li ke I said 40 soooo, any advice you can give me will be better than none, her household does not sleep at nighttime because they worry about her, and even possibly driving, she already rolled one car ...We need to know if anyone knows how this should be addressed.. thanks somatosed in florida....

As a paramedic, on the human standpoint, sleeping pills or opiate painkillers would be better. Take note, if you don't do it right, they will eventually wake up with severe liver damage which makes the entire body hurt. For you to be asking this question, your dog must be terribly ill and you don't want to see him/her suffer like this anymore. It is a loving and unselfish act. If you are able to afford it, call around. There are some vets that will come to your home to put him/her to sleep. This way they do not get the anxiety of going to a vets office and they are in the warmth and love of their own home environment. I think the vets have it down pat for no mistakes or pain involved. I do believe dogs have souls the same as humans. There is convincing documentation that states after the stopping of the heart or even severance of the head (on people), the body can still be aware for at LEAST one more minute - tops 6 min. So even after the stopping of the heart, continue to hold your beloved for a while after. It will do you both good. I am so sorry you are forced to make this gut wrenching decision. My heartfelt sympathies.

I'm right there with Lucey. It's not your choice, and being where I am you have tried the talking to dumb mother ******* that don't know ****, or being on every type of med treatment. They have given me enough meds to last a lifetime, but I don't want a lifetime, so did anyone ever give an answer so I don't end up with kidney problems or in a coma

If you are concerned, because you think you took too many, then please, call 911. In fact, honey, if you're asking this question, then it's time to get some help, now. Call 911 even if you haven't, because it's clear from this that you are asking how easy would it be to kill yourself. That's depression talking, not you. Call now, and get some help...things really do get better.
I know because I asked a very similar question of people at the Poison Control Center, 6 years ago, when I was wondering how many ibuprofen it would take to die (none...won't kill you, I found out). And I didn't die, and I am a million times grateful today that I didn't. Like I said, it's depression that is making you want to die, not you. Please, please, will you call someone, now? You can either call 1-800-SUICIDE (1-800-784-2433) or call 1-800-273-TALK (1-800-273-8255). If you need assistance with TTY, then you can call 1-800-799-4TTY (4889).

If you're looking for a way to kill yourself, please call your local suicide hot line.
If you're asking because you're afraid that you might have been prescribed an excess dosage, rest assured that your pharmacist actually reads these prescriptions and picks these things up.
If you're worried that it might accumulate in your tissues and build to a fatal amount, then you need to know that all meds have a specific "half life", the amount of time in which they stay in the body, and that that is what determines the timing of dosages.
You can find information, in plain language, about any med by going to www.webmd.com and scrolling down near the bottom of the page, to the "Drugs A - Z" link.
