I'm making pizza with my daughter's preschool class next week. What is the easiest way to do this? They can each make their own and then we'll cook them eat them. What do you think? English muffins? Cresent rolls?? What type of toppings are best for preschoolers? Cheese and pepperoni??

Super for kids!!

1 package (10 oz) refrigerated pizza dough
1/4 - 1/2 Cup prepared pizza sauce
1 Cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
Pepperoni or sausage

Preheat oven to 425
Unroll dough onto greased baking sheet
press or roll dough into 12x8 rectangle
Using cookie cutters cut out shapes
reroll scraps and cut into mini shapes
Pre-bake crust 7 minutes or until just begins to brown
(THIS COULD ALL BE DONE AHEAD OF TIME)

Spread on sauce and top with cheese and whatever else.
Bake 6-10 minutes or until crust is deep golden brown.

This makes 4-6 servings, so obviously you would need to at least triple the amounts..........!!

Wouldn't they love heart shaped pizzas or stars!!
Muffins would probably be easiest, but this is fun!!

Good Luck!!

I would suggest canned bsicuit/crescent rolls or pita bread, cut into smaller rounds with a cookie cutter (round or other shapes). The kids would enjoy doing that part with you, too, if time permits.

Cheese and pepperoni are the most popular toppings for sure. We had pizza in my preschool class today, (2 and 3 year olds) and about half of the class picked off the pepperoni and did not eat it. :-)

When I had the older guys a few years back, though (4 and 5 year olds) we would cook pizzas and they would add veggies, ground beef, etc to their pizzas and eat every bite.

I have done this myself with another mother. We used English Muffins and Cheese. We let kids use Pepperoni and ham chunks as a topping. More then likely the kids will love making them and you will be a big success. Good luck!

How about a quarter of a small Boboli pizza crust? Or fresh bread? You mentioned English Muffin, but I"m not sure they could bite thru it once it was baked.

I'd use a Tbsp. for them to do their sauce, then a spoon for cheese.... you may even put out a few pepperonis, olives, or mushrooms and see how many eat it! Might be fun!

Buy some biscuits from the supermarket and give them one each. they can roll them out and add the cheese and the fillings they like...ham sliced into thin strips, chicken diced small, mild pepperoni sliced, pineapple chunks drained.

for toppings, what about cheese and fresh veggies? peppers cut into strips, tomato, etc...its a great way to show kids to be healthy, and they always like colorful foods
