I was going to recommend Lochels actually. I've found them to be very good...but sometimes they do serve things that are a little old. The nice thing is they're honest. I ask. If what i want wasn;t made fresh, I either get something else or I leave. I'm assuming you know about termini Brothers in south philly. That place is amazing italian bakery. Don;t go to the satelites though...go to the original in south philly.

I like Darryl's Bakery on Keswick Ave in Glenside and Bredenbeck's in Chestnut Hill.
Weinrich's icing is too sweet. UD used to have wonderful butter cake.

If you can make about a 20 min. drive to Richboro, there's a great little bakery next to the post office. The name has changed but I think it's Desserts by Debbie or something like that.
