I've seen life come into this world and I've seen death take it out. I'm sorry, but I do not believe that you can be immortal and live for all eternity.
Nor would I want to live forever. I can't think of anything worse then being forced to exist forever, never having the option to end it all at some point. One episode of Star Trek Voyager addressed this dilemma when it had a member of the Q Continuum (a group of eternal, god-like beings) who had grown tired of the endless eternities because he had experienced all there was to experience and just wanted to commit suicide and not exist any longer.
Eternity is a long time; Humans become weak if they are not challenged. Muscles atrophy if not stressed, so does the mind and the will. How long do you think it would take for strumming a harp and singing praises of hallelujah to become dull and boring? Eventually, if we don't have a continually challenging and diverse environment, we will die, yet in heaven you cannot die.

There really is no death spiritually. There is death in body. Because the body is only a physical form for the spirit to live in. Yes i believe the spirit lives on forever. My opinion.

Most religions of the world, Christian as well as Pagan, believe that life goes on eternally. Even Wicca (witchcraft) holds that philosophy.
The main difference is in the character of that life after death. Will it be in a lofty heaven, with streets of gold, where there is no marriage and the greatest thrill will be worshiping God? Or will it be to live again on Earth, in another life, perhaps another form, or even to live again on another planet? Or will it be to simply rejoin the cosmic energy of the Universe?
I personally believe that Life continues after death. However, if it does, I do hope that I will have better things to do than to just kneel and pray for all eternity, streets of gold or not.

Yes, the process of our rebirths(reincarnations) does seem endless to some, but always diligently strive to erradicate all our negative unwholesome mental factors(ie: impatience, anger, hatred, discrimination, ignorance, greed, delusions, attachments, desires, etc),
replacing them with their opposites = the wholesome, productive one's, which brings us Peace of MInd, and ultimate Happiness.
This is life's Purpose. And by doing so, we also imporve our relationships with humanity in every way.
You should study philosophy. You'd be really good in philosophy. It is really a fascinating subject, especially the eastern philosophies of the world.
Take Care.

P.S. - out of curiousity, I read all the answers
before mine. Just ignore the answer
from those who wish to degrade others
because of their pessimistic attitude.
Maybe they are that way because they
sincerely think they have no real purpose
in life. We are here to find peace, happi
ness, and to help our fellow mankind.

No. There is no evidence that there is life after death. In fact, the evidence suggests there is no such thing as a "spirit" or a "soul" that lives on after death.

Sure dont know where you get your info but in my world life does end and the spirit lives on. I am not a believer in the Christian type god but I do know for sure that spirits live and we can come back many times.

Life after death is a common human desire that fulfills the need to believe that we are more than we are. It is a common mistake.

No, it is a proved fact that death occurs. Life is a biological process. Death is the cessation of the biological process. We are products of our biological bodies.
