Well, I've been flirting with this girl in my class for the past month or so, and we are both extremely interested in each other. The problem is, I'm a very shy guy so I was waiting until the next to last day to get her screen name and phone number (but not ask her out right away). Unfortunately, it snowed on that day, and though we went to school, the buses at her school couldn't take her to mine (she visits for 2 classes a day). Then on the last day she couldn't come because of a scheduling conflict between our schools. She's not going to be here this semester, and I might never see her again.
However, I did remember her giving her phone number to someone else during class, and I wrote it down. My question is, would it come off as too creepy if I were to call her, even if it was just for her screen name (and talk for a little bit)? Also, like I said, I'm very shy, so any ideas on what exactly to say would be greatly appreciated.

If you were good enough friends with her that she might think she gave you her number at some point, then definitely do it.
But, if you didn't actually talk that much and for you to call would be an awkward surprise, I would be cautious. At least don't tell her you overheard the number. Act like you looked it up somewhere.
If you knew her semi-well and you're hemming and hawing over it, just go for it. As you said, you'll probably never see her again, so if she's a little freaked out, at least she goes to another school. Just a tip: if she thinks it's creepy it may be a sign. If she really liked you she probably was bummed that she didn't get to say goodbye and she'll be delighted to hear your voice on the phone no matter how you came to be calling her.
Actually, I got a phone call from a guy (that i liked) who I had been in a class with, and I had no idea how he got my number and it was totally fine. He called a mutual friend and got it so that he could call me to work on a project together.

I think that if you guys are interested in eachother and you want to take a chance, just call her. If she likes you she won't be worried about where you got her number, just the fact that you called will please her. And I know you might be shy, but if this girl matters to you, you have to try to look past it. Just call and calm yourself down enough to get the courage to ask her to hang out. Asking for her screen name is childish. You are probably young, but don't go there. Ask her to hang out... that way you get to know her better and not over a computer screen, but in person. If you always rely on her signing online, you will get too comfortable with typing and will be shy in person. You have to get over the in person part. Good luck.

If she was interested in you as well, then she'll be flattered... and could possibly be sad that maybe she would never see you again... and this would make her happy... also I'd start with the screenname, just because it's less awkward that way... then you could even ask for her number then... rather than just call her one day, with a number that she didn't give you... that would be creepy... and kinda stalkerish...
As for what to say... just say hey, ask her how her break was... if she misses your school... blah blah blah... "if she misses you *wink wink*... just don't think too much... u said she was interested in you too, so u don't have much to worry about, she obviously likes who you are... so just be yourself... shyness is very inhibiting, trust me... don't let it control you :-) goodluck!

Call her, and if she asks how you got the number, maybe dont answer and just say you wanted to talk.
If you like her that much you Definantly call her, because shes not going to be there this semester.
Plus its easier to talk on a phone than in person(to me, im shy)

You answered you own question. Write your phone number on one side of a piece of paper and your screen name on the other. Then a short message, "Email me when yu get home." This is less invasive an it lets her contact you in the comfort of her home. Good Luck.

start with the screen name..becuase ppl get sns from all over the place so its not weird at all.
see, if u like her u HAVE to do this, becuase once next semester begins she will start to forget about you and then it WOULD be creepy for u to IM her.
if shes like me, she wont want u to call her right away..in fact i probably wouldnt answer my phone if i didnt know the number.

Ask the person who she gave the number to to call and ask her if it's okay if you called her. That would not be creepy. If you do call her out of the blue...that would be creepy.

oooh..DEFF call her. dont only get her sn, talk for a while about ur day and hers, even if ur shy, talkin for a bit will help. get her sn, and MAKE SURE WHEN U CALL U HAV A REASON like, ooppps, wrong person, i meant to call bob or whatever, then say...OOOH is this ______? and then make a joke like my first choice for hw help was bob, but u will CERTAINLY DO, make her feel like u kno her, but didnt mean to call her, and talk for as long as u can
