Like everyone is saying,, base housing is for the MARRIED, youi will have to stick it out in the barracks like everyone else. As you move up in the ranks you will get better barracks. But like everyone else, just stick it out dude

The only way would be if you were a single parent, then you could be put on the waiting list as any other. If you are single, with no dependents, you wouldn't be eligible for base housing, you would be assigned to the dorms. But at some point, normally depending on the occupancy of the dorm and your rank, you could be authorized to live off base and draw the single rate (no dependents) housing allowance.

For Enlisted:
Single generally spends first three years in dorms.
After 3 or married: can recieve BAH (housing allowance pay) or on base housing, depending on availability of base housing... Rare that single E's over 3 get on base housing.
For Officers:
Single: RARELY are put into Officer's dorms, depending on availability. More often get BAH and off-base housing. Occasionally they have single officers quarters, but this is also rare.
Married: Can recieve BAH or On base housing depending on availability.
Beyond a certain rank and/or position level (mission important personnel) the officer will live on base by default.

U can get a barracks room share with someone but u can not get on base housing lists being single. Those are for married airmen. U can move off base, most likely this option will require u to get a roommate but what the hell your off base!!

If you are an officer, the services have a BAQ or Bachelor Officers Quarters. If you are enlisted, they have barracks that seperate men and women. Housing for singles is not normally provided unless you are of a high rank of major or above!

You would need to be married to get on the list for base housing.
Single Airmen live on base in dorms.
At least that how it was when I was in 90-94
