There are 100 politicians at a convention. Each politician is either crooked or honest. We have only two facts:
1. at least one of the politicians is honest
2. given any two of the politicians, at least one of the two is crooked
can we determine how many are of the politicians are honest and how many are crooked? if so, how many? if not, why not?

clue 1 gives you the 1 honest person
clue 2 says at least 1 in every 2 is crooked. so that means only 1 can be differant
but i have no idea where they found a honest politician

yeah there is 1 thats honest and 99 are crooked. if you had 2 or more honest politician then, besides the whole world blowing up, there is a scenario when given any 2 politicians, where at least one of them is not crooked.

my guess would be that there is only 1 honest politician. If you selected 1 honest and 1 crooked, at least 1 is crooked. If you selected 2 crooks, still at least one of them is crooked.

Hook the 1 honest with any of the other 99 and at least 1 is crooked.
Hook any of the other 99 together and at least 1 is crooked.

There has to be two honest and 98 crooked because it says one is honest right? That means you have 99 left. You take two, one's crooked, you take another two, one's crooked, etc. until you're down you one person left, and the one that's honest is already out, so that person left must also be honest.

1 honest 99 crooks. If you pair up any two politicos either one OR BOTH can be crooked but the honest one will always be the only one whichever you pair him up with.

no because the same crooked politician could be paired with all 99 of the other politicians....or not. there's no way to know.

Ask one of the crooked ones which one is the most crooked... I would think he would tell you the honest one, in an obviously crooked move.
