That's what I've been told. In a famine/drought situation, your body can resort to using its fat stores. After that, it starts using muscle tissue. A person can survive for weeks without food. With water though, you're constantly sweating, and breathing out water and water vapor, so you can really only survive a few days without water. Unfortunatley, there's not a lot our bodies have in the way of water storage.

Hope that answers your question!

Yes it is. Your body needs the liquid. Food is important to our survival but even more important then food is water. You can live longer without food then without water.

Yes, but not much longer. Since our body is about all water, it needs that more than food. But you never wanna do without either if you don't have to.

Yes it is true. You can live without food for about two weeks more or less. Without water you will die in three days. And it is a very painful three days.

Yes. The body is something like 80% water. You need to be replacing the water you lose, and if you don't... well, your body just can't operate without it.

Food brings nourishment and energy that the body can store, and once you run out of the stored nourishment, it starts to turn on itself, degrading its fat and muscle to feed its needs. But that's a much longer process than death by dehydration.

Yes, that is true. Mainly because most foods you eat have water in them anyways and manytimes when you think you are hungry it's really a thirst issue. Water is a necessity!
