starting around 3weeks ago, every time i bath using soap bars, i end up with these red patches on my arms which become very sore and dry...

they don't really itch but it really hurts and it feels like i've just burnt myself... after the bath this soreness lasts around 5hours... but the redness stays for longer. do you know what's causing this?

Could be having an allergic reaction to the soap. My daughter has very sensitive skin and is limited to what she can use. The dermatologist suggests reading ingredient labels on skin products. Only purchase ones that have less than 8 ingredients, Aveeno is the best brand for this. So give them a try, also pat dry your skin, do not rub vigorously. When skin is still partly damp, rub some lotion into the skin to help keep it well moisturized

usually in the winter the skin cells get more sensitive. Sometimes the soaps that yuhave been using all the time do not adjust to your skin levels anymore and cause a reaction. You can eliminate this by switching to a softer brand of soap or to using bath/shower gels instead
Hope this helps.

I have exima, but I don't think you have it. The answer may be that you are allergic to the type of soap you are using. Talk to a doctor and find out if you have any allergies to anything, and soap too. Then buy a recommended soap such as Dove, Simple, or whai I use, Aveeno.

This does not sound like eczema, but sounds like an allergy to the soap bar. Try using a non perfumed bar or body wash like "Simple". If it continues speak to your GP
