I have learned what few others seem to know, so I'll share it here. This only partially relates to your question.
The phrase "In God We Trust" was not originally on the money. In fact, it has only been included on the money since the Cold War. During that time, people wanted the US to seem different from the religion-suppressing Soviet Union. So the government decided to add that phrase onto the money. However, the Soviet Union is gone, the Cold War is over, we are still the seperation of church and state country we were before that mess, and that phrase is still on the money. Isn't it time to remove it? I don't mean to make anybody mad, but it has no place here. Seperation of Church and State, people. Whether you like it or not, money belongs to the state. God should not be involved.

Unfortunately, it is the truth, the US, as a whole, does trust in god. Also unfortunately it has gotten us nothing but grief since we put it on the money back in the 50s. We couldn't win in Korea, we lost in Vietnam, and we're getting slowly roasted in Iraq.

What happened in Iraq. Saddam is dead and Haliburton owns all the oil fields now. Just the way Bush and his boys prayed for.

i do not care both way, although I make it a level to capitalize Gods yet no longer god until eventually touching on a particular god only to harass boastful fundies who imagine only they have the solutions.

Taking prayer out of the schools resulted in things like Columbine. I think taking "in God we trust" would be just as bad for this country.

No silly. God doesn't exist. It means trust nothing or nobody with your money.
