I'm a true Dale Jr fan. I did not begin watching Nascar until 2004. I heard about his father passing away in 2001, but I did not become a fan until 2004. While I respect everything that Dale Sr accomplished and gained in Nascar, I am not a fan of his.

I truly believe that Dale Jr has built his own legacy in Nascar. Some of the Dale Jr dislikers are quick to claim that Jr is trying to be his father and that's not true. Dale Jr does not use the same racing tactics as Dale Sr did. Jr races clean and if he does something wrong then he is quick to admit that.

I remember last season he caused a wreck and Kyle Petty got hit. Dale Jr actually went over to Kyle Petty's pit box and apologized for it and he also helped Kyle get his car back onto pit road...Dale Jr got behind Kyle's car and pushed it with his own car.

And let's not forget about what happened at Talladega in the fall..when Brian Vickers wrecked Dale Jr and Jimmie Johnson! Dale Jr did not blame Brian Vickers...NOT ONE BIT! Jr took it like a man and went on his way...he didn't moan, cry, nor complain about what happened. He just sucked it up and went on to the next races where he got 2 top 10 finishes!

A lot of people are quick to say that Dale Jr only got where he is today because of his father and that is not fair nor true. Yes...his father was Dale Earnhardt Sr but Dale Jr can't do anything about that. You can't choose who your parents are. Dale Jr can't help that his father was so talented and amazing. You gotta take the good with the bad.

The thing with Dale Sr is that he did not give anybody anything and that certainly included his children. Before Dale Jr began driving Dale Sr made sure that Junior had what it took to make it on the race track as a successful driver. He made sure that Dale Jr had the talent before he signed him.

I am a lifetime member of the Dale Jr Nation...AND THAT'S WHERE I'M STAYING!

I AM A TRUE FAN! I started watching NASCAR in 2004 and my first driver is Dale Jr. had i had no influence of anyone, i actually had people telling me not to root for him, then i started liking Kasey Kahne. and now im 50-50.
To prove im a true fan, ive liked Jr. for like 3 years and have already done my fair share of standing in line, in the snow outside at 7 am to meet him, and that was just to get a ticket (199 outa 200) and then another hour inside. Best guy in person, dont listen to the mead rude comments, they are wrong!!
So if that is not a true fan, im not sure what is.

I am a TRUE Dale Jr. FAN!!! Didn't watch his dad race. I like Dale Jr. because he seems to be a down to earth guy who is honest and enjoys racing. Doesn't act like some of the others.....oh you know big mouth Stewart...whiny Gordon and I know it all Kyle Busch...ha!
Hope all works out with DEI...however HE is the Earnhardt.....Teresa married into it! Don't dog your step son in public.....let him know in person!

I live for Dale Jr's racing. His daddy was out of this world, but here comes Little E!He is his fathers son,but his own man and a damn great race car driver!!People need to stop comparing him to his daddy! He does not want to be in his father's shadow. And he should never be in anyone's shadow!Racing is racing, but everytime things are not perfect people jump @ well Dale Sr. would have done it different.Maybe so,but all drivers do it their way and I think his way is also out of this world!!So you asked the question and my answer is Hell yes I am a 100% true Dale Jr. fan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was a HUGE Dale Earnhardt fan, and I admit, I jumped on the Junior bandwagon after Big E died. But, after seeing how Junior handled himself afterwards, and how he acts with his stepmom, I have become a huge Junior fan. I just wish he would start winning some races. If not, I still love him.

I'm a dedicated Tony Stewart fan , but I like JR. He is level headed and respectful to everyone both on and off the track. As for this little spat with Teresa, it'll hurt D.E.I. a hell of a lot more than it will JR. if or when he leaves. Keep in mind ,his Dad drove R.C.R. cars not his own.

I am a true fan. I do think he needs to settle down though. If he crashes or doesn't finish a race, that's not good. I thought his dad was a dirty driver, but I like how Jr. races. If he can get the DEI problems solved, think he will be very competitive this year. He races other drivers clean, just waiting for him to pay Tony Stewart back.

i was a #3 man until he died, but i did keep up with jr when he was in busch and he won back to back titles. so i guess since jr left busch i have never watched a whole busch race in its entirety. and when he and his dad raced i would still root for the intimidator over jr, but i guess to answer your question most fans of nascar were #3 fans, so when he died most people fell into jr as their only place to go for a driver to root for. and if a lot of ppl love him b/c his daddy i dont see anything wrong with that as long as they realise that he isnt his daddy

Actually, I did not like his father at all. I like jr because he just drives... he races and he races clean. He doesn't use the same tactics that other drivers use. He is open and honest and admits his mistakes. He is just a decent person who deserves to win more than he has.
