You would have to file a wrongful death suit against the person who killed him. That's really the only way I know of. Of course, if the person who killed him doesn't have any money, then you're probably wasting your time. Social security does offer some death benefits as well. I'd probably see an attorney here. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Was a person convicted of the crime? Or at least do you know who did it ?As far as I know you would have to take them to civil court to get any sort of monetary compensation. If they were already convicted in criminal court you are probably almost guaranteed a win in civil.

Go to the County DSS Dept of Social Services. By law they are required to tell you if there are any resources avail. Good luck.

my guess would be you have to know who committed the murder, hire an attorney then sue the person responsible.
