I have a great hairdressers. They charge me £7 for a wet cut. I park outside, get my hair cut, then jump in the car and dry and style it at home. Why pay more for them to do that for you. They never do it the way I want anyway. I just want the haircut. Also I don't go to the fanciest place either, you're paying for their council rates just because they are located in the best part of town.

Well personally I dont go to expensive places the most I pay is 20$ and thats with a hefty tip so maybe you should tell them to go to another place the other thing is I go in get a cut to my chin then it grows out to my shoulders or a bit longer and then go get it cut to my chin again so i go get a cut once every 3-6 months I know somebody reading this is going you should get it trimmed at least once a month or every other month but i dont have time for that im a mother of 2 young kids i have more important things to do then get a trim and more important things to spend my money on then $15-20 every month plus my husbands hair cuts that would 40 a month and then my sons make it 60 yeah dont think so. So my advice tell them to find a cheaper place or that they dont need a wash, cut style, blow dryer color perm everytime they go and tell them they can go less often. Or ask them to chose between getting their nails done and getting their hair done since that is another big rip off. So hope i helped and if not then sorry so good luck

My hair dresser only charges me $15 for me to get my hair washed & cut. And I dont go to Procuts I go to an actual Salon. But alot of the prices depend on where you live. In the big cities it can cost you about $75 all the way up to $200+ to get your hair cut! Thats crazy. I live in a small town outside of Ft. Worth & its definetly not that much or I would never get my hair cut :) But I dont think your wife could do much to get them to lower there prices. The Hairdressers base their prices on about how much people will pay in that area. Remember that Hairdressers have to make a living too & they have to pay for supplies & to rent the space they are in. And if your wife & daughter get their hair styled thats alot extra so maybe thats why it so expensive. I dont know what else to tell you... I guess just Good Luck :)

I couldn;t agree more. It's extornionate. A friend of mine told me that she had been to a hairdresser's who had a sign in the door saying that people with long hair (longer than shoulder length) would be charged £10 extra! I have done my bit and moaned at my hairdresser ( who is very good indeed (ignore the avatar)) but then I have short hair so who am Ito complain!

men get haircuts more frequently to keep their hair neat. women don't get haircuts as frequently. so your haircut may be 10-15 bucks and your wife's might be 50-80 (for the cut) but it evens out in the longrun.

and about value--it depends-- cheap haircutteries arent going to have hairdressers with the same experience as hairdressers in better salons. BUT this doesnt always mean they know what they are doing. its a toss up.

well im sorry but im a hairdresser. i work in northern Ireland. as for our prices for haircuts you dont think we make these numbers up of the top of our heads. our prices have to match are over heads and the money coming in has to be enough to cover wages, are stock, are water rates, are insurances, are rent every month and so on. im sorry you find it expensive but at the end of the day our scales have to balance out on both ends. also it all depends on were you are cause most of the salons in my town are nearly all the same money give or take a few pound.

I am getting great value for money. I pay £5.00 for a haircut about 4 times per year and only use shampoo. A lot of people have commented on how nice my hair is. I don't use gels or even a hairdryer so it is completely natural.

Great value for money.

Well, I suppose if you liked your wife with off coloured hair, and a bad cut - she could probably go to Magicuts or some cheap place like that. Or maybe you could go to hairdressing school and do their hair yourself - for free of course!
