I realise I have to get a greencard etc etc, and it is a lot of trouble, which I respect, because I realise that you do not want everyone and anything in your country. Its just if im not welcome I would rather stay here and suffer. Should I not bother?

Yes, you would be welcome in the U.S.
Most americans are not against legal immigration at all, after all, immigration is how the majority of people came to the U.S.

However, if I were you, I would consider Canada rather than the U.S. It's cleaner, safer, kinder, and has a greater respect for diversity.

Any person who comes to this country legally, who lives within the laws and respects our core values of Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for all, will be welcomed with open arms. All those that want to come here to abuse our social systems, burden the society and laze around in a drugged or drunken haze while fathering (or mothering) a bunch future felons can please stay where you are.

I welcome any one from any country to come live here so long as they have the intent to do their part in terms of working and paying taxes, and do it legally of course.

Though you'll probably run into someone who's against immigrants, but the majority of people I've heard complain about immigrants specifically singled out hispanics (which is stupid)... So even then, you should encounter few problems.

It's ok with me. Generally, Americans are a friendly lot, welcoming all kinds of people. Immigration is the whole history of our country, and we are proud of that. You'll be fine.

Anyone who wants to come to the USA and will apply and come legally, be a productive decent member of society, etc.. they are welcome in my opinion.
I dont care where they are from.
The fact that you want to feel welcome says alot. You obviously care about more than just yourself.
Maybe you should apply.
