Pretty standard is to round up to the next dollar amount and then add a dollar. So if a ride comes to $5.15 I would give $7.00. Of course if a ride comes to $5.95, I would give $8.00. Of course if you are feeling generous there is nothing wrong with giving more.

My ride home is usually just above or below $8 and I hand them $10 and get out of the cab. I guess I tip about $2 when the ride is $11 or less. If it's between $12-15, I probably tip about $3. If it's $16-20, I'll tip about $4. If it's $20-30, I tip $5. It also depends on what bills I have in my pocket. Sometimes I add on another dollar or two because I don't feel like asking them for change.

I'm really not sure if I stick by any kind of percentage 'rule', I just round to the nearest number and add on a few bucks.

Depends on the cab driver. If they are nice and respectable and not taking the longest route on the meter. Than depending on the fare between 5-15 dollars. If you ballin' than maybe you want to give a little more. Hey it is all up to you.

Tip them fifteen to twenty percent of the fare. Add a buck or two more if he helps you with luggage.
