Crank up the stereo with some
Basin Street Six, or maybe
some Charlie Parker, or
a Miles Davis hour or two.

Thinking about my 8 grandchildren ages 11 down to 4 months. Spending time with them. Prayer lifts my spirts and spending time with my husband or girlfriends for tea. I have so many grandchildren at the young age of 48 and I don't feel as discouraged as I did before they came. I am on my second marriage to explain the amount of children. I love being able to chase them around and trust me they all give me plenty of exercise so My answer is exercise, prayer, family and friends.

I try to think of the positive things I have in my life, to be contented with what I DO have instead of what I have lost, cannot have or never will have. The simple things are what bring the most contentment, even to hear the birds sing - when we are down we often dont even hear that. Get the book "As a Man Thinketh" by James Allen, its very small and easy to read in a short time, it will really make anyone think about what they think about and how to change negative thinking into positive. Its really true. I get very discouraged, sometimes daily, our mind is so powerful but we CAN turn it around when we are aware of what way we are actually thinking. Good luck.

I would normally find myself in prayer, because no one knows me better than God, it really feels good to go to him knowing that he is listening to every single word you are saying and not cutting you off,it's feels good to cry out to him and while doing so everything just feels like it is slowly going away ,whatever it was that was discouraging you, stressing you, whatever the circumstances are or were ,it's has or is going to be taken care of .Prayer in my belief and experience with God is the Key to all circumstances.Try it,but you have to have FAITH,and a REPENTANT HEART!

All of the above. :) I try to listen to encouraging music and talk to my family who is really supportive. Also, I think about all the times when I was going through a rough patch before and I eventually came through it okay. That helps give me a little bit of perspective to remember that although things may be hard right now, I'll probably be okay in a few months or so.

When I feel down; I just remind myself that everybody has bad days; today is my turn; tomorrow is a new day. Also when I feel discouraged being around family or friends helps.

I practice the Mindfulness of Breathing, AND
Meditate on the Kindness of others.
This always cheer me up when I am a bit
discouraged.
I also spend quality time with my two children.
They are both very humorous, in a non harm-
ful, non - hurtful way. The kids always show
much kindness, love, and affection toward me.
This cheers me up.
Good Question. Thanks for Asking.

I craft. I start with something plain and make it beautiful.
Then I step back and look at what I've created. That usually makes me smile. After Hurricane Katrina I didn't feel like crafting. I just could not get into it. I started a blog and just started putting down my feelings. That helped a lot.
